A Times of India report quoted Javed Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, as saying that travelers from Kerala, apart from students and staff, should present RT-PCR negative test reports and stay in isolation for seven days. needed.

The report said the government has exempted people traveling due to emergency situations like medical treatment or funeral, and students traveling to Karnataka with parents for not more than three days from institutional quarantine.

Stating that institutional quarantine is mandatory for other students and employees of Kerala, the report said quoting the circular, education institutions, companies and firms should take the responsibility of providing institutional quarantine for their students and employees.

The report said that the authorities were allowing only passengers with RT-PCR negative test results to enter Dakshina Kannada district and officials of the Department of Health, Backward Classes and Welfare and Panchayats to monitor the movement of people in the state. was stationed at the borders.

Quoting a health inspectorate officer M Pradeep, the report said that they have seen many such instances where time bound test reports are submitted to people and many of them are unaware of the rules.
