Divorce between couples is not a new thing. But here is a special case in which a 75-year-old man has filed for divorce from his 70-year-old wife in Mysuru, Karnataka.
The married couple has been living in Mysore for 35 years. He has three daughters who are now married. All the three daughters married the boy of their choice which was not approved by the father.
The wife tried to pacify her husband saying that the daughters have grown up and there is nothing they or anyone else can do since marriages are over.
But the angry youth refused to budge. He even blamed his wife for whatever happened and said that it was because of her support that the girls went above the family. The differences between husband and wife only worsened with the passage of time. The husband filed for divorce and the matter went to the family court.
Mega Lok Adalat was organized at Mysuru on Saturday, 11 February 2023. Principal District and Sessions Judge GS Sangreshi was successful in bringing the couple together and withdrawing the divorce case. “A total of 36 couples seeking divorce have agreed to set aside their differences and move on in life. Out of this, 27 were from urban areas,” the judge said.
