Hubli: Generally, farmers grow Soybean Get 10 quintal yield per acre by using chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Kallangowda Shettynagoudar Patil, 41, is awaiting the fourth crop. Patil Told TOI that they have taken 196 quintals of crop from 14 acres of land.
“I did not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, but grew the crop under the guidance of Raoji Patel, a businessman turned organic farmer. Kadlikoppa Village in Hubli Taluk. I gave the first spray of buttermilk and cow urine which was stored for more than three months. Just 0.25 liters of each liquid is enough for 16 liters of water. For the second spray, an insect repellent, we used cow urine, neem leaves, parthenium, ace, castor and a mixture of chilli and garlic powder. Later, the solution used as the first spray was repeated,” he explained.
“As my first attempt in 2018-19 gave me success, I repeated the same in 2019-20 and 2020-21. The price of soybean, which was Rs 4,200 per quintal, went up to Rs 7,200 last year. I earned Rs 66,000 per acre after deducting input cost in 2018-19. Last year the net profit per acre was Rs 96,000. It was a kharif crop, and I got the yield in four months. Though we grow Bengal gram in rabi season, it The crop is average. We prefer soybean as it is less prone to damage,” he said.
Rajshekhar A Angoudar, Assistant Director, Agriculture Department said that Patil has been an innovative and progressive farmer.
“They have been honored Krushi Bhagya and also accommodated the best farmer in Taluk-Level Agriculture Award and Kisan Mela-2018-19 organized by our department and University of Agricultural Sciences,” she added.
