Karnataka Election News LIVE: PM Modi in Poll-bound State Today, On His Way to Bandipur & Mudumalai Tiger Reserves

With the launch of the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA), PM Modi will release the government’s vision for tiger conservation during the ‘Amrit Kaal’. IBCA will focus on the conservation and protection of the world’s seven major big cats – tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard, puma, jaguar and cheetah, with membership of range countries that harbor these species, a PTI The report said on Saturday.

Notably, the BJP’s parliamentary board will meet on Sunday to finalize candidates for the May 10 elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly.

Before the discussion began, Chief Minister Bommai said, “We will discuss about all the possible candidates. We have district and constituency wise details and recent survey results. Keeping all these things in mind, we will have a detailed discussion with the national leaders. The BJP, which is aiming to come back to power in the southern state, has set a target of winning at least 150 of the 224 seats.

PM Modi will also interact with field directors of tiger reserves, which scored highest in the 5th cycle of the recently concluded Management Effectiveness Assessment exercise.
