Karnataka: Covid-19 mortality rate 0.1% among children in the age group 0-9 Mysuru News – Times of India

Primary school children will go to school from Monday after a gap of about 18 months. The low positivity rate and negligible mortality rate among children in the age group of 0-9 are seen as the reasons behind this move.
Since the start of the pandemic, 19,93,532 children in the age group 0-9 have tested positive in Karnataka. The mortality rate is 0.1 percent. In the age group of 10-19 years, 2,32,900 tested positive and 94 died. The mortality rate is lowest at 0.04 per cent in the 10-19 age group.
Classroom studies for classes 6 to 12 began last month. In Mysore82 percent class 6-10 students are now going to school. “We have started mid-day meals, so the numbers are expected to go up,” officials said. DPI commissioner Vishal R said: “For 15 days, we are working on reopening schools for primary school children up to class 5. We have sensitized all stakeholders to make schools safe for children. The sero survey showed that more than 70 percent of children have developed antibodies.
