Karnataka: CM Bommai said – cabinet will be expanded today, brainstorming is going on on Deputy CM

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai is in Delhi these days regarding the cabinet expansion in the Karnataka government. CM Basavaraj Bommai informed that the expansion of the cabinet will take place today (Wednesday). After getting its approval from the central party leadership, the swearing-in ceremony will take place this evening.

Bommai said the names of the ministers would be decided only after consultations with BS Yediyurappa. He said that keeping in mind the previous team, the cabinet would be kept balanced. The balance of regional and social representation will also be taken care of while deciding the name. The issue of Deputy Chief Minister will also be decided in the meeting.

He also said that there are different opinions regarding the post of Deputy Chief Minister. The issue will be clear in Wednesday’s meeting on the issue of BY Vijayendra.

Yeddyurappa will not interfere
Basavaraj Bommai is in Delhi to discuss the reshuffle in the state cabinet after taking oath as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had said that he would not interfere in the selection of ministers in the new cabinet. He had said that his successor and new Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was free to choose his own team in consultation with the party leadership.

Also Yediyurappa had told that Bommai is in Delhi, in a few days he will discuss with the central leaders and decide who should be in his cabinet, I will not interfere in who should be made a minister or not. Bommai is completely independent, he will discuss and choose his cabinet ministers.
