New Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai has given relief to BJP legislators and experts, who were appointed to key advisory positions by his predecessor BS Yediyurappa and his three deputy chief ministers.

The relief orders on August 1 and August 2 said that with Yeddyurappa’s resignation on July 26, the Council of Ministers also automatically dissolves, and consequently, by him or his deputy chief ministers or ministers during Yeddyurappa’s tenure. As per the August 1 order, Yeddyurappa’s advisor M. Lakshminarayana and educationist MR Doreswamy will no longer serve as advisors to the government on education reforms. Similarly, Beluru Sudarshan has been relieved from the post of e-governance advisor to the Chief Minister. Startup investor Prashant Prakash, also known as former MLC Mohan Limbikai, was the Chief Minister’s legal advisor, advisor to the chief minister on policy and strategy.

Yeddyurappa’s three political secretaries – MPs Renukacharya, DN Jeevaraj and NR Santosh – will also visit.

Karnataka’s special representative in New Delhi, Shankaragowda Patil, has also got relief.

Days after the notification, Bommai chose V Ponnuraj, a 2000-batch IAS officer, as his secretary, replacing S Selvakumar, who was Yeddyurappa’s choice.

Whereas as per the order dated 2 August, all contractual appointments and advisory posts made by the three Deputy Chief Ministers have been canceled and all government officials on deputation to work with the Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and Chief Minister have been relieved of their duties. has gone.
