The incident took place three days ago in the grounds of a temple dedicated to a deity in Sulia taluk, about 90 km from here. TOI could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
The footage shows a member of the shrine committee asking the Christian boy to leave the ground and play in the church premises. At that time, the Hindu boys support their Christian friend and request the committee member not to drag religion into the issue.
The committee member suddenly reprimanded the Hindu boys for playing cricket “with people of other religions”. She is heard telling the boys that she has spoken to him MLA Over the phone on this issue.
Sources claimed that the Dharmasthala committee had decided to plant saplings and dig pits for it.
