Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is doing everything possible to bring back Naveen’s body.

new Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said the government along with the Indian embassy in Ukraine is doing everything possible to bring back the body of Naveen, a fourth year MBBS student who was killed in shelling in Ukraine. This comes after Naveen’s father requested PM Modi, the embassy on Tuesday, to bring back his son’s body.

“Naveen’s friends have sent a picture of his body, sending it to the Ministry of External Affairs for confirmation. We are in touch with the Indian embassy to at least secure the body. Do everything possible to bring the body back.” Attempts are being made.” Bommai was quoted by news agency ANI. Karnataka CM said, “Compensation will be given to the family.”

According to news agency ANI, Bommai told on Tuesday that two others were with Naveen during the exchange of fire and one of them was also injured. Both are reportedly residents of Chalgeri and Ranebennur taluks in Haveri district of Karnataka.

The CM further assured on Tuesday that they will do their best to recover Naveen’s body and bring it back to India. He also said that he has requested the PMO and the Ministry of External Affairs to recover the bodies.

Naveen, a fourth-year MBBS student from Karnataka’s Haveri district, was killed in shelling in Ukraine, informed the Ministry of External Affairs. The ministry has urged both Ukraine and Russia to secure safe passage for thousands of Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine amid Russian aggression.
