“More space is needed to bring a body in flight. The space required for a dead body can accommodate up to eight people and be brought back,” Bellad said.
Talking to reporters, he said that the government is making every effort to bring back the body of the deceased Naveen from Ukraine. “There is a war going on. It is difficult to bring back those who are alive. It is very difficult to bring back the dead body,” he said.
Despite all the difficulties, the Ministry of External Affairs is trying to bring back the body of MBBS student Naveen. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is taking special care of this matter.
The people who are in Ukraine are under a lot of pressure. If they manage to come to Romania, they are safe. Our country has made arrangements for food and accommodation for the students there. He said that he would be brought back to India soon.
He asked why Indian students are going to study medicine in Ukraine in large numbers. The reason for this is the huge expenditure incurred here. “We have the Medical Council of India (MCI), it is a private institution. They are creating artificial demand for MBBS seats,” he said.
There is a prohibition on allotting additional seats and an element of corruption exists. Action should be taken against MCI. Why can’t Indian students get cheap medical education here? Bellad inquired.
Naveen Shekharappa Gyangoudar was the first Indian student to fall victim to Russian shelling in Ukraine on March 1. His parents and brothers are pleading with the Government of India to bring back his dead body. Prime Minister Modi and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai have spoken to the family and assured that they will make all efforts to bring back Naveen’s body. His father Shekharappa, while talking to PM Modi, appealed to bring back thousands of students trapped in Ukraine. However, till now the relatives have not received any information about the body being found.
