According to the police, accused Altaf befriended the 21-year-old girl on social media and knew each other for three months

A 21-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a person who she met on social media in Udupi district of Karnataka on Friday night.

According to the police, accused Altaf befriended the 21-year-old girl on social media and knew each other for three months. As per the complaint, Altaf called the victim to a certain location and kidnapped her in white car. Later, she was provided a beer bottle by an accused with some intoxicant and allegedly sexually assaulted.

According to the police, two of the accused friends came in a car and provided him a beer bottle in which he mixed intoxicant and made victim consume that.

The police, which is investigating the case, have also seized two cars used in the incident.

Karkala police has also arrested Altaf and his friend Severa Richard Cardosa, the one who allegedly provided beer bottle to Altaf. A case has also been registered and accused has been charged with kidnapping, rape, and other offenses.

BJP Slams Congress Govt

Meanwhile, a politics have erupted with BJP slamming the Congress government over the incident.

The BJP has claimed that Hindus aren’t safe under Congress government and demanding a strict action from the government.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Leader of Opposition and BJP leader R Ashoka, “After this government came to power, there is no safety for Hindus. They’ll either be murdered or raped or government will close the cases. Such a case happened in Hubballi and Haveri also. Now such an incident has happened in Karkala. Congress MLC Ivon D’Souza has said to make India a Bangladesh. The government if has some respect, they should take an action”.

V Sunil Kumar, BJP MLA from Karkala said, “In Karkala, a girl was raped by a person belonging to a particular community. It is a premeditated act. I condemn this. She was given some drug and raped. A mother of a victim has filed a complaint also. 2 are said to be arrested but police should immediately take a strict action. Hindu girls are being targeted and such incidents are happening often. It is pre-planned act. The government should take strict action in this case. The whole gang should be identified and punished”.
