Kareena Kapoor was seen visibly upset leaving Malaika Arora’s father’s house after his passing. Arjun Kapoor also visited the Arora residence following the last rites.
A video capturing Kareena Kapoor’s emotional exit from the residence of her close friends Malaika and Amrita Arora’s parents surfaced online on Thursday. The two sisters are dealing with the recent and tragic loss of their father, Anil Mehta, who passed away on September 11. According to reports, Mehta died by alleged suicide after jumping from the balcony of his Bandra home in Mumbai, a detail shared by the Mumbai Police.
Kareena Kapoor, known for her poise and generally approachable demeanour, appeared disturbed as she left the building. As paparazzi began clicking her photos, she kept her head down and walked briskly, avoiding interactions with the media. In the video, Kareena was dressed casually, sporting a white hoodie with a graphic print and light blue flared jeans. She paired her outfit with white sneakers and dark sunglasses, seemingly trying to stay under the radar during the difficult time. Kareena has been a constant support for her best friends, Malaika and Amrita, during this tragic period.
Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika’s longtime partner, was also seen arriving at the house later in the day. Dressed in a simple black t-shirt and matching black pants, Arjun’s expression was equally somber, reflecting the grief shared by the family. Arjun has been by Malaika’s side through this trying time and was present at the funeral as well.
Alongside Kareena and Arjun, other celebrities were also seen offering their condolences to the Arora family. Gauri Khan, Dia Mirza and Farah Khan paid their respects at the family residence. Gauri, who was unable to attend the funeral with her husband Shah Rukh Khan earlier in the day, made sure to visit the grieving family soon after.
Malaika, who was in Pune when her father passed away, rushed back to Mumbai as soon as she heard the tragic news. Amrita, who had been with her parents just a day before, came with her husband Shakeel Ladak to offer support to her family. Other members of the extended Khan family, including Arbaaz Khan, Salim Khan, Helen, Sohail Khan, and Alvira Agnihotri, were also seen at the residence, lending their sympathies during this painful time.
In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Malaika shared the family’s grief, stating: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time.” The Arora family has asked for privacy as they navigate their loss, appreciating the outpouring of support from friends, colleagues, and fans.
