Karan Johar mourns the death of famous film critic Rashid Irani

Mumbai: Popular film critic Rashid Irani passed away at the age of 74. Reportedly, he probably passed away on July 30 at his home. When Rashid Irani was reportedly not seen for around 2-3 days, police and people searched for him and his body was found inside his house.

Mumbai Press Club shared the news from their official Twitter account and wrote, “Rashid Irani, 74, one of the foremost film critics of the country, passed away probably at home on 30th July. He was not seen for 2-3 days; friends. , after being searched by club officials and police reached his house, where his body was found. #RashiDirani”.

In another tweet, he wrote, “He was one of the pillars of the Mumbai Press Club Film Society, and a core member of the club who never missed a day to write his reviews and watch movies at the media centre. He will be missed by all the members and employees. Details about his funeral will be announced soon.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar condoled the death of the film critic on his Twitter account. KJo tweeted, “Rest in peace Rashid…. I remember all our conversations and conversations very fondly…. Your insights on cinema will always be invaluable…”

Meanwhile, speaking on the professional front, Karan Johar will next be seen directing Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the upcoming film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Love Story’. The film will also star Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shaban Azmi.
