Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two suspects on charges of renting weapons from a malkhana (warehouse) of a city court to commit the crime near Karachi’s Paposh Nagar graveyard.
According to SSP Central Malik Murtaza, Shahrah-e-Noorjahan police conducted raids near the graveyard and arrested the suspects identified as Shahryar alias Masoom Bengali and Saeed.
Police recovered weapons from their custody, saying those arrested were “most wanted suspects”.
The SSP said, “In the initial interrogation, the suspects made shocking revelations.
According to him, the suspects told the police that they used to get weapons on rent from Malkhana in the city court earlier also and a person named Khaleel provided them with weapons for a limited period of Rs 8,000 per weapon.
“Khalil was also with him during the robbery,” the SSP said. If he is ever arrested, Khaleel will visit the police station, where he will be presented as his lawyer and demand his release. deals” will be arranged.
He said that on Khaleel’s instructions, the suspects also conducted reconnaissance of officers going to the city’s courts and provided “tips”. They also conducted a reconnaissance of an officer of K-Electric in the central district on the instructions of the absconding suspect Khaleel.
