Ricky Ponting took to social media to say that it is a well-deserved break in the Test squad for Shreyas Iyer, who made his India debut in early 2017.
Ponting said, “After seeing all the work you have done over the years, very well deserved and only the beginning has just begun for you. Proud of Shreyas Iyer,” Ponting said.
Notably, Ponting has been working with Iyer at Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. Iyer was the captain when Delhi reached their maiden final in IPL 2020.
