Kanpur Man’s Bike Stunt: ‘Titanic’ Pose Draws Police Action

On Saturday, the Kanpur Police filed an FIR against a man after a video of him performing dangerous stunts on a bike went viral on social media.

The viral video shows the man standing on a moving bike and attempting to strike a ‘Titanic’ pose.

The police reported that the incident occurred in the Ganga Barrage area of the city, within the jurisdiction of the Nawanganj Police Station.

As the video went viral on social media, the Kanpur Police registered a case against him under Section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for endangering life or personal safety. Additionally, the Unnao Police imposed a fine of Rs 12,000 on him under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act since the bike was registered in Unnao.

Speaking to the media, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mahesh Kumar of the Kanpur Police said, ‘A bike stunt video is going viral on social media today. The video was filmed in an area under the jurisdiction of Nawabganj Police Station.’

He added, ‘The police have immediately taken cognizance of the video and will register a case under Section 336 of the IPC. Using the number plate details, we discovered the bike was registered in Unnao and have directed the Unnao Police to impose a penalty under the MV Act.’

Earlier in a similar incident, a man was fined by the Kanpur Police for performing a dangerous wheelie stunt on his bike in front of police officers in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur.

The police fined him Rs 5,000 for his actions.
