KANPUR: Kanpur to Kolkata flight, which was supposed to resume in July but could not resume due to technical reasons and passenger load, will now start from Saturday (August 21).
According to airport officials, around 65 per cent of the passenger load has been booked, which is likely to increase before take-off.
Airport director VK Jha said the flight operator took the decision to resume the Kolkata-Kanpur-Kolkata flight from Saturday. He said the flight operator had announced the resumption of Kolkata-Kanpur-Kolkata flight from July 21, but it could not be started. After this the flight operator announced the new schedule but every time the flight had to be canceled. He said it was supposed to resume on August 20, but it was canceled again.
The flight operator said that the 78-seater aircraft will land at Chakeri airport at 2 pm and will be in the air again on its return journey after a 20-minute halt. Leather traders coming to Kolkata will benefit from this flight.
