Kanpur: Four Pharmacists have been found guilty in remdesivir Scam in Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital, Where injection were allegedly issued in the name of deceased Covid-19 patients.
The committee headed by the Chief Development Officer (CDO) has submitted the report to the District Magistrate (DM) Alok Tiwari. “Investigation reports have been received and four pharmacists have been found guilty. Action will be taken against them soon,” the DM said.
Meanwhile, the doctors have been given a clean chit in the matter. Other employees have also been acquitted. These injections were issued from the store in the name of two patients who had already died of corona virus.
During the second wave of the Kovid-19 epidemic, there was a crisis of remdesivir injection in the market. People were willing to spend Rs 50,000 to Rs 55,000 for the purchase of injections.
Taking advantage of this, black marketers started selling injections at expensive rates.
The police had then arrested four people, including two nursing staff of LLR Hospital, for selling the injections.
A few days later it was found that injections of Remdesivir were issued in the name of both covid -19 patients hospitalized, and who had already died. “Those injections have also been shown to patients,” sources in LLR said.
The matter was taken up by the then Principal of GSVM Medical College, Prof. RB Kamal, under whose jurisdiction this hospital falls.
On the basis of the report of the inquiry committee, he has issued show cause notices to eight nursing staff by suspending the sister in-charge and pharmacist of the Neuroscience Center of Kovid-19 located in the hospital.
At the same time, DM has also ordered an inquiry. A three-member investigation team was constituted under the supervision of CDO Mahendra Kumar, which also included ADM (city) Atul Kumar and CMO.
Considering the four pharmacists guilty, the committee has recommended action in the report.
