Kannada comedy king Chikkanna to start shooting for his first film as a solo hero soon

Kannada comedy star Chikkanna is all set to start shooting for his debut film as a solo hero. The shooting of the film Upadhyay, directed by director Anil Kumar, will begin next month. According to reports, the film will go on floors on July 17. The film will be shot in Mysore and a small part of the film will be shot in Bengaluru.

The film is directed by Smita Umapati and Nirmala Srinivas. The crew of the film recently organized a Muhurta ceremony at the famous Banashankari temple in Bengaluru. Producer Smita Umapati and Chiknana’s mother also attended the event.

On the occasion of Muhurta Puja, filmmaker Anil Kumar said, “We have launched the film at Banashankari temple. It is a comedy film, from the first scene to the climax, it will make people laugh. No doubt it is good entertainment. There are emotional moments in comedy cinema too.

Umapati Srinivas, producer of some of the hit films like Hebuli, Robert and Madagaza, said, “Chikanna shines on the screen as an absolute hero through this film, and is nothing short of entertainment.”

Chikkanna is quite excited about his upcoming film as a solo hero and revealed that earlier he had got an opportunity to play the lead role in films like Ajahuli and President, but he declined. The comedy king of Chandan Cinema said that he liked Upadhyay’s story and agreed to do the film.

Malaika will play the lead role alongside Chikkanna. The shooting of the film is likely to be completed by August.
