Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar to be buried near his father’s grave in Bengaluru

The body of Kannada film actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be placed next to the grave of his father, Kannada cinema legend Dr Rajkumar, in Bengaluru. Senior IAS officer N. Manjunath Prasad issued an order in this regard on Friday (29 October). Puneet Rajkumar’s last rites will be performed on Saturday after his elder daughter Vandita returns from the US. His body was taken from the hospital to his residence.

Puneet Rajkumar passed away due to a heart attack. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed to take necessary steps to conduct the last rites of the actor in the premises of Sree Kanteerava Studio near Dr Rajkumar’s grave in Bengaluru, the order said.

Puneet Rajkumar’s mother Parvatamma is also buried in the same premises. This decision has been taken as per the wishes of his family. The civic agency and police department of Bengaluru have been asked to make necessary arrangements.

The body of Puneet Rajkumar is being kept for public viewing at Kanteerva Stadium till Saturday evening. Thousands of people across the state are thronging to pay their last respects to their favorite star.

All the bigwigs, including Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, paid their last respects to Puneet Rajkumar. The meeting of the National Executive Board of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) being held in Dharwad also condoled the untimely demise of the young actor. RSS regional coordinator V Nagaraj said, “RSS prays that God gives strength to his family and fans to bear the pain.”
