Kangana Ranaut has wrapped up shooting for her much-awaited political drama Emergency. In the film, the actress will play the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The actress recently revealed that Telugu director Vijayendra Prasad saw the first edit of the film and ‘wiped his eyes several times’.

The Queen actress shared a picture of herself with the director on her Instagram stories. He also added a small note which read, “The first person to see the emergency after the complete edit is done. Not only did Vijender sir wipe his eyes several times while watching the edit, but after watching it he said, “I want to see you. I am very proud my child”.. The Emergency is based on the Indian Emergency of 1977. Directed by Kangana herself, the film stars Anupam Kher as revolutionary leader JP Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

Earlier announcing the film wrap of Emergency, he had revealed that he had mortgaged all his property for the shooting of the film. Sharing a bundle of BTS pictures, the actress wrote, “As I wrap up Emergency as an actor today….
