Kangana Ranaut also described the world of politics as ‘difficult’ and said she would ‘always prefer to be associated with the arts’.

Kangana Ranaut is often asked if she is planning to join politics anytime soon. In a recent interview, the actress was once again asked the same when she said that ‘I want to be a politician’ is an ‘obscene thought’. He argued that one should not talk about it on one’s own, but rather let the people decide.

“If you say, ‘I want to be a politician’, that is an obscene thought. You should not say it yourself, the public should say it. Those who are in positions of power, who control these things, He should say it. What I feel about it is irrelevant. It is for the public to decide and those in power should give me the opportunity. I will leave that decision to them,” Kangana told ABP.

The Manikarnika actress further called the world of politics ‘difficult’ and added, “Art is a pure profession. Artists are blessed by Saraswati. And we all know how unforgiving the world of politics has always been. Being a part of that world I am not naturally inclined, I am a soft artist at heart. I have always wanted to be associated with art. But if I get an opportunity to serve my country and be selfless, I will definitely take it. If my country needs me Well, there I am.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana will next be seen in Emergency. She is playing the lead role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana is also directing the film. The film also stars Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chowdhary and Pupul Jaykar in pivotal roles. Kangana had earlier clarified that even though Emergency is a political drama, it is not a biopic on Indira Gandhi. Apart from Emergency, Kangana also has Tejas in the pipeline.
