Kamran Akmal said, was surprised to see ‘young’ Virat Kohli in IPL 2008

Karachi: Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal said that he was surprised to see a young Virat Kohli playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2008 IPL. Akmal also played for Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2008.

Virat Kohli had scored just 165 runs in 13 matches in IPL 2008 but eventually, he became the highest run-scorer in the T20 league.

Kamran Akmal heaped all praise for the Indian captain and said that Virat is an amazing player and winning the tournament is just a matter of luck.

“He is an amazing player, an amazing captain, and no one can guarantee that if India changes captain, they will win the ICC tournament. It is a matter of luck,” he concluded.

“There is this culture in India and Pakistan to defame players through media but I think Virat must be getting affected by it. It is not easy to be so consistent in cricket. He is so mentally strong. So 70 To score a century is not an easy age.

Kamran concluded, “Losing a Test match should not be a matter of questioning his (Virat’s) captaincy. India should have won 4 out of 5 Test matches in England, they have such a wonderful team.”
