Kalyan : Unable to fill the pits during this Diwali Due to heavy rain this year, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has now decided to fill potholes on all main roads ahead of the festival.
KDMC Commissioner Dr. This decision was taken on Wednesday in the review meeting convened by Vijay Suryavanshi Instructed Municipal Engineer Sapna Koli-Devanapalli and the concerned Executive Engineer to repair all the main roads before Diwali.
During the meeting, it was found that KDMC, which started toll free number 18002330045 for complaints related to potholes last week, has received only 296 complaints related to potholes so far.
KDMC officials claimed that most of the complaints were related to roads that fall under the jurisdiction of Maharashtra Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), Public Works Department (PWD) and some of them Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC)
Officials said that these complaints have been sent to the concerned department for filling the pits.
Out of 296 complaints, multiple complaints were filed for the same roads and out of these 48 complaints come under KDMC. All 48 complaints have been resolved.
After the rain stopped, KDMC has started filling the pits in Twin City, but with the speed it is finding it difficult to fill all the pits before time.
In view of this, Dr. Suryavanshi has also directed the city engineer to call a meeting of all the contractors and increase the number of their employees to fill the road at the earliest.
This year like other cities of Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Kalyan-Dombivli residents also faced a lot of problems due to potholes on the roads in the city.
