The title of Nag Ashwin’s project K is officially revealed Kalki 2898 E, Starring a huge all-India cast Radiance, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh BachchanKamala hasan, Disha Pataniand Saswata Chatterjee, the film is an epic, mythology-inspired sci-fi spectacular set in the future.
The first look of Kalki 2898 AD was unveiled at the 2023 San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). The video reads, “When darkness envelops the world, a force will rise.” As we see armed soldiers are attacking a fort. Deepika Padukone is seen in short hair in a file of female recruits. The teaser flaunts dystopia and Indofuturism as Prabhas makes his entry in a dashing exosuit. Holding a deadly lance in his hand, he was asked, “What is Project K?”

Reports claim that in Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas has portrayed a modern avatar of Lord Vishnu. The film has strong shades of Star Wars and Dune.
Nag Ashwin had previously directed the biographical period drama Mahanati (2018). Prabhas’ recent film ‘Adipurush’ which is based on Ramayana was criticized a lot. Deepika Padukone is making her Telugu debut with Kalki 2898 AD. Amitabh Bachchan appears as a cloaked warrior in a brief shot (Aankhen, Chiko…). We are yet to get a glimpse of Kamal Haasan in the film.
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD has a global release date of January 12, 2024. The film will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English.
