Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 1: Prabhas film has created history by becoming the third biggest opener of Indian cinema. It has beaten Jawan, KGF 2 and Salaar opening records.

Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 1: Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan has created history at the box office by becoming the third biggest opener in Indian cinema as it has collected massive Rs 180 crore-plus on its opening day, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.com.

As per the industry tracker, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, earned around Rs 95 crore net in India on its first day for all languages, while its gross collection is estimated around Rs 115 crore. Overall, the film has grossed over Rs 180 crore worldwide on day 1. With this massive collection, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed the global opening records of KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (Rs 158 crore), Leo (Rs 142.75 crore), Sahoo (Rs 130 crore) and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). RRR still remains the highest Indian opener with Rs 223 crore collections, followed by Baahubali 2 which grossed over Rs 217 crore on its opening day.

Kalki 2898 AD had a grand release worldwide on June 27. The film, which already sold more than 20 lakh tickets across all languages in its advance bookings, opened to largely positive reviews.

News18 Showsha rated the film 4/5 and was all praise for Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas’ performances in the film (Read the review, here). Our reviewer said, “Kalki is an out-and-out Amitabh film. Even though we see very little of him in the first half, the actor’s screen time increases in the second half. The intensity with which he delivers his dialogues is worth praising. Prabhas’ Bhairava and Bujji add an element of humour to Kalki 2898 AD. Even though Prabhas’ action sequences in the first half lack energy, he stuns all with his fierce avatar in the second half of the film. His face-off with Amitabh surely deserves a special mention and is one of the major highlights of the film.”

A unique blend of Hindu mythology and science fiction, Kalki 2898 AD revolves around a modern avatar of Lord Vishnu, who has descended on Earth to protect the world from the forces of evil.
