JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s sensitivity has again raised a ray of hope for Kailash Bhila laborer of Bhilwara district, who lost both his hands in an accident.
Kailash, a resident of Kheda village of Jardu, had gone to Bhavnagar district of Gujarat for wages about five months ago. He burnt both his hands while doing an electrical work there. Due to efforts of the doctors, his life was saved but both the hands had to be amputated.
Kailash is the only support for the livelihood of elderly father Baluram Bhil, pregnant wife, daughter and younger brother. After the accident, a mountain of sorrow broke on this family and Kailash’s life became bleak.
Seeing the plane, Nirmal Mehta, a citizen of Asind, took up the matter with the office. Taking a humanitarian decision, chief minister Ashok Gehlot gave instructions to the officials to help to provide a prosthetic hand free of cost with immediate effect. Calling Kailash to Jaipur on February 1, a free right prosthetic hand was fitted from Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti, After medical advice, a decision regarding the use of his second artificial hand will be taken.
In view of the pathetic economic condition of this youth, direction was also given to provide assistance by providing relaxation in the chief minister’s personal grant fund rules. The CM has also directed the district administration to provide all benefits payable under social security schemes to Kailash.
