Agency SM Entertainment announced that a documentary film for K-pop group Shinee is currently in the works and will be released in September this year to celebrate the group’s 15th anniversary.
A documentary titled My Shiny World, the upcoming film will feature never-before-seen material from the group as it outlines their 15-year career and journey with their fans. The agency also shared in a press release that footage from Shiney’s recent three-night concert tour leading up to their return to the KSPO Dome in Seoul, as well as behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, will be included in the documentary film.
Last week, Shinee returned with the release of their eighth studio album, Hard, and the lead single of the same name. A music video for the song ‘The Feeling’ was released a week before the album’s release, marking the 15th anniversary of Shinee’s fandom. The 10-track record is their first group release in more than two years, following their repackaged album Atlantis in April 2021. This comes shortly after the youngest member, Taemin, successfully completed his mandatory military service earlier this year.
However, the members were absent from Onyu Act’s Seoul concerts and will not participate in promotional activities for Hard due to their ongoing hiatus. SM Entertainment first announced last month that the singer would be taking a break due to health issues.
During a fan meeting in May, Taemin teased that SHINee would return multiple times in 2023. The dancer and singer said, “This year is going to be the year of Shinee, please be prepared for how many comebacks there will be”.
This is the group’s second documentary film to hit theaters after ‘Beyond Live: SHINee World,’ featuring footage from SHINee’s 2021 online concert live streamed through Beyond Live in April 2021, as well as some behind the scenes footage from the concert Scenes are also included. ,
For those unaware, SHINee debuted in 2008 under SM Entertainment. They started off as a 5 member group. However, one member passed away. The band currently consists of four members, Onew, Ki, Minho, and Taemin. Member Jonghyun passed away in 2017.
