Ahead of the Telangana elections 2023, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, earlier called the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, has stepped up its attacks against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its leaders. The BJP is making all out efforts to woo the voters of the state and oust the BRS led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao from power. Hence, KCR is well aware of the fact that the fight in the state elections could be between the BJP and the BRS and hence the leaders of the ruling party are targeting the top BJP leaders.
Recently, Telangana Labor Minister Chamkura Malla Reddy took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 10 over disinvestment in PSUs. Taking a dig at PM Modi, Reddy claimed that PM Modi was selling PSUs like he used to sell tea. Reddy made the remarks while speaking in the state assembly.
Reddy also accused the Center of not releasing funds allocated to Telangana under various schemes for the labourers. He said that the Center is not releasing the insurance amount to Telangana due to which the workers are facing hardship. He claimed that the Center was supposed to release Rs 463 crore during the current financial year, but only Rs 226 crore has been released so far.
Meanwhile, Telangana minister KT Rama Rao termed the Congress and the BJP as “anarchic forces” and urged the people to never allow these parties to rule the state. KTR was referring to TPCC president A Revanth Reddy’s remarks about demolishing Pragathi Bhavan and BJP state president Bandi Sanjay’s threat that if voted to power, the BJP would demolish the domes of the secretariat.
Addressing the state assembly, the Telangana minister said, “Yesterday, one person said he will demolish Pragathi Bhavan and now another is saying he will demolish the secretariat. We talk about laying the foundation while They say talk of digging graves. Another person. Says bomb it. I ask all my friends to think what will happen if the state comes into the hands of these lawless forces. I am Telangana I request the people of Jharkhand not to give the state in the hands of these madmen. I also request to reject the parties, these anarchic forces and anarchic words who only think of blowing up, demolishing and creating any constructive Not the idea.” KTR said.
State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay has stoked a fresh controversy by threatening to demolish the domes of the newly built state secretariat and said the party would destroy Nizam’s cultural symbols in Telangana. (with agency inputs)
