John Krasinski has been named the Sexiest Man Alive for 2024 by People magazine, Stephen Colbert announced on his show.

The wait for 2024’s Sexiest Man is finally over. The People’s magazine recently identified actor John Krasinski as their Sexiest Man Alive of 2024 on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Known for his iconic roles in The Office, A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part II, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Krasinski couldn’t help but feel confused about how to react to his latest title. On Tuesday night, Colbert, who initially sounded disappointed about not being named as the winner, later surprised everyone by bringing the actor to the stage.
“Stephen, it’s OK. All right, you’re not the sexiest man alive, but who cares? Who is, except for me apparently?” Krasinski quipped at the host, who ended up admitting his jealousy. Krasinski also spoke about a “six-step process” that is required to receive the sexiest man title.
In the magazine’s cover story, John Krasinski opened up about his first reaction to the news and revealed that he felt an instant blackout. “Zero thoughts. Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be the Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me,” he added. His wife, actor Emily Blunt, was “very excited” upon hearing the news and even joked about putting the magazine cover as wallpaper in their home, he added. Echoing similar thoughts with Stephen Colbert, the actor revealed his family’s reaction.
“I have known since five minutes ago. I still think this is a prank. There was so much laughter on the other end of the phone when I called home,” he shared.
Besides his much-celebrated role as Jim on The Office and in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, the actor also holds the credits for co-writing, directing and starring in the horror film A Quiet Place, which also featured Blunt. He recently starred in Paramount’s IF and has Fountain of Youth with Natalie Portman lined up. Meanwhile, with the Sexiest Man title, Krasinski has joined the likes of stars such as Chris Hemsworth, David Beckham, Dwayne Johnson, John Legend, Paul Rudd and Chris Evans.
