John Abraham reveals that doctors wanted to amputate his leg after he injured his knee during the shoot of Force 2

Entertaining us with countless actioners in his career, John Abraham recently revealed that his fondness for action movies and performing intense stunts once landed him in serious trouble. Talking about his experience of performing ‘fatal stunts’, in a candid conversation with Times of India, the Bollywood superstar revealed that a few years back when he was shooting for Force 2, his knee hurt very badly. Not only this, the doctors wanted to amputate his leg.

The actor further revealed that he had gangrene in his right leg and about which doctors had given him this shocking advice. “Some stunts are very deadly. I remember I broke my knee during ‘Force 2’ and had to undergo three surgeries. I had gangrene in my right leg and the doctors wanted to amputate my leg. I said, ‘No, you can’t do that’. But thanks to Dr Rajesh Maniyar, my surgeon in Bombay; He saved my knee,” John was quoted as saying by TOI.

He further added that ‘thankfully,’ it was in the past, as it was 7 years ago and now he is completely fine. At the same time, he said that today he is walking comfortably, sitting. He revealed that currently, he feels he is “even more flexible and faster” than he was before. The actor said that he likes to do action films but he takes breaks in between and also works on different projects. Cautioning others, he said, “You can’t have a sense of a lie” just to prove to a few people on the set that you can do everything. He said that sometimes a stunt person gets hurt and then becomes “a little more aware of the dangers”.

For those who don’t know, the 2016 film Force 2 is an action spy thriller film directed by Abhinay Dev. Along with John, the film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Boman Irani and Tahir Raj Bhasin in pivotal roles. The action is a sequel to the 2011 film Force, which starred John and Genelia D’Souza in the lead roles.
