John Abraham responded to the recent horrific rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata by delivering a powerful message directed at young men.

Actor John Abraham recently expressed his strong reaction to the tragic case involving a Kolkata doctor, emphasizing that women are not to blame for such incidents. Instead, he directed his message at young men, urging parents to raise their sons with better values. In an interview with Radio City, when asked if he had any advice for the youth in light of the alleged rape and murder of the doctor, John stated, “I’ll tell the boys to behave, otherwise I’ll tear them apart,” underscoring his frustration with the situation.

In a podcast appearance, John, a self-proclaimed patriot, discussed the broader issues facing India, highlighting the lack of safety for women, children, and animals. He stressed the importance of Indian men understanding how to treat women, emphasizing that every man should be a protector, not a threat.

The horrific incident took place at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9, and after initial mishandling, the case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI has reported challenges in the investigation due to the tampering of the crime scene.

John’s latest film, ‘Vedaa’, which addresses themes of violence against women, reflects similar real-life incidents across the country. However, despite its timely and relevant subject matter, the film has struggled at the box office, earning less than Rs 20 crore in its first week.

The News18 Showsha review of the film reads,”In summary, Vedaa may lean on the familiar good versus evil narrative, which could feel clichéd at times, but it succeeds in drawing you into its powerful message against caste-based discrimination and oppression. Through the perspective of a woman determined to challenge a corrupt and malevolent system, the film explores the deeply entrenched injustices that plague society.”

The review adds, “Despite its flaws, Vedaa remains an entertaining and thought-provoking watch, effectively engaging the audience with its strong themes and compelling storyline. While the climax may not fully measure up to the film’s potential when compared to others in the genre, the journey it takes you on is undeniably gripping, making Vedaa a worthwhile experience.”
