Jodhpur: Luxury car collided with roadside shanties, 1 killed. Jodhpur News – Times of India

JODHPUR: One person was killed and eight others were injured when a speeding luxury car derailed and rammed into makeshift huts on the roadside at AIIMS Road here on Tuesday morning.
The car rammed several two-wheelers parked on the road before stopping.
The incident created panic in the area and the people of the shanties were running here and there in panic. In an instant, the scene was dotted with injured persons all around.
According to police, all the injured were taken to the nearby AIIMS hospital, where one succumbed to his injuries on the way and eight others are undergoing treatment.
The deceased was identified as Mukesh (30) and three injured were occupants of the shanties, four were other passengers who were hit by the car.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who arrived Jodhpur On Tuesday morning, even on a day’s visit, he went straight from the airport to the hospital and met the injured. He instructed the doctors and administration of AIIMS to provide best treatment to all the injured.
He immediately announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the dead, Rs 1 lakh for the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
According to ACP (West) Noor Mohammad, a car coming towards AIIMS from Pal Road lost its balance and rammed into roadside huts after hitting some two-wheelers.
“The car was speeding. The driver was identified as Amit Nagar Immediately surrendered himself to the police and was taken into custody,” the officer said.
The place witnessed a post-storm devastation, with battered two-wheelers and the belongings of the residents of the huts scattered.
Everyone present at the spot was in panic and could not fathom the situation for a few seconds.
In an instant the place was littered with wounded and blood was splattered all around.
Though investigation is underway, according to some eyewitnesses, the car was moving at high speed and there was an explosion before losing balance and going into the huts. However, the police are yet to confirm this observation of the eyewitnesses.
This is the second such incident in a month when a speeding luxury car has claimed its life in the city.
In a similar incident last month, three persons driving an Audi car rammed a roadside vendor and two vehicles on Chaupasni Road, killing one person on the spot and injuring three others. About a week later, another died during treatment.
The car was allegedly being driven by the minor son of a police inspector. Zulfiqar Aliq And the police had also registered a case.
But no one was implicated in the case as the police had claimed that Ali’s son was not on the steering wheel against the claims of the eyewitnesses.
