Around 3,000 workers working for the BVG company have gone on strike for the last two days leaving residents of the city in difficult position. BVG company has claimed that the strike is going on for two days but residents claim that four days continuously hoopers are not coming.
Kamlesh Saini, a resident of Raja Park, said that garbage is accumulated in the house. “We have to store the garbage in different bags as the hoopers are not coming. It is so difficult as the house is stinking. We have called the councillor who said the strike is ongoing.”
Shilpa Sharma, another resident of Vidhyadhar Nagar, said, “Hoopers usually arrive once in two days but for the last four days no sight of any. We have complaints in the corporation, but nothing has been done.”
BVG company manager Ummed Dheerawat said, “We have not received payment since October from the JMC-Greater. Due to this, we are not able to pay to our employees and they have decided to go on strike. Although we tried to cajole them, but they are not ready to break it. We are in the process of making them come for work.”
At present the strike is going on Vidhyadhar Nagar zone, Jhotwara, Malviya NagarJagatpura and half of Sanganer.
JMC-Greater official just claimed that they are looking into the issue and will soon try to resolve it as soon as possible but the garbage is lying on road without any resolution.
