A woman was killed when an IED kept by Maoists exploded while collecting mahua flowers in a forest on the Lohardaga-Latehar border in Jharkhand. The police gave this information on Saturday. The incident took place on Friday in Bulbul forest, when Shakunti Devi, a resident of Latehar district, was collecting Mahua flowers, he said. He said that the authorities came to know about it when his body was brought to the village on Saturday.

At the same time, in another case, 50-year-old Sumitra Devi killed her brother-in-law and Jethani with an ax on the suspicion of being a witch in Bukma village of Chaunpur block in Gumla district. After the incident, the woman went to the police station and surrendered. The police informed about this.

Six minors gang-raped 10-year-old girl
On the other hand, half a dozen minors systematically gang-raped a 10-year-old girl to teach a lesson after a minor dispute at a marriage function in Torpa block of Khunti district of Jharkhand. After getting information about this, the police have sent all those accused to the juvenile home. Police sources said that the incident came to light on Friday when the victim girl’s mother lodged an FIR at Tapkara police station after the matter was not resolved in the panchayat.
