Jharkhand Violence: Home Secretary seeks clarification from Ranchi SSP for putting up posters of accused

After the violence after Friday prayers in Jharkhand last week, the police has started taking action. Under this, the police had put up posters with pictures of people involved in violent demonstrations in Ranchi.

At the same time, now the State Home Secretary Rajiv Arun Ekka on Wednesday evening sought an explanation from the SSP on the illegal act. After this, the police removed them from different parts of the state capital citing some flaws. The posters were put up on Tuesday.

Rajiv Arun is the Principal Secretary, Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department. He said that this is illegal and against the order of March 9, 2020 passed by the Hon’ble High Court, Allahabad.

It is noteworthy that protests broke out in Ranchi on June 10 over controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad, in which two people lost their lives and two dozen were injured. However, policemen were also injured in this violence.
