Jharkhand: The doors of Baidyanath Dham temple opened after seven months, today there may be an influx of devotees

The doors of the famous Baba Baidyanath Dham temple in Deoghar district of Jharkhand were opened for devotees on Saturday after seven months. Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kumar Singh said that around 1,000 devotees with e-passes were allowed to perform the puja from 6 am to 4 pm.

He said that additional police force would be deployed on Sunday in view of the possibility of overcrowding of devotees in view of Anant Chaturdashi. The devotees were allowed to enter the temple premises only after checking their e-passes at Mansarovar, some distance from the temple, the police official said.

Demonstration to open the doors of BJP
BJP MLA from Deoghar Narayan Das had demonstrated against the government by playing damru outside the assembly in Ranchi and demanded the opening of the temple. Narayan Das had said that Baba Baidyanath Dham is not only Deoghar but the center of faith for the country. Thousands of people are taking their lives from the temple. I demand the government to open the temple soon.

Religious organizations had knocked on the door of the Supreme Court
Some religious organizations had approached the Supreme Court demanding the opening of Baidyanath Temple and Vasukinath Temple. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the organizations. But the Supreme Court refused to hear the matter. The Supreme Court had flatly refused to hear the demand for opening of temples. Chief Justice NV Raman said the matter would be heard on the due date as per the procedure. There is no need for immediate hearing.
