In Jharkhand’s Giridih, Naxalites blew up the track of New Delhi-Howrah railway line between Chichaki and Choudhary dam of Saria police station area under Dhanbad-Gaya railway section late on Wednesday night.

RPF Inspector Pankaj said that around 12:15 pm on Wednesday night, the Maoist squad had reached to carry out the incident. Thankfully there was no major accident during this period. After the incident, the Naxalites have also left the form. According to the information, Naxalites have called for a bandh in Bihar-Jharkhand.

Due to the incident, the movement of trains passing through this route was disrupted. Ganga-Damodar Express at Chaudhary Dam station, Jodhpur-Howrah Express at Hazaribagh Road station, Hatia Islamabad Express at Parasnath station and many other trains including Howrah Mumbai Mail, Lokmanya Tilak Express remained affected for about 3 hours at various stations. After hours of struggle, the movement of trains was normal. After the incident, a search operation was conducted by the police and CRPF in the surrounding area.
