Jharkhand: Rat terror in Giridih’s government hospital, three-day-old newborn girl badly bitten, probe ordered

The terror of rats in the government hospital of Giridih, Jharkhand is such that they are not deterring even newborn children from biting them. In the hospital, a woman told that her condition has become critical after a rat had badly gnawed her three-day-old newborn baby girl. After getting information about the same incident, the management fired two nurses and formed a panel to investigate the matter.

Mother Mamta Devi said – I was scared

Mother Mamta Devi said that when she went to see her newborn in the Model Maternal and Child Health (MCH) ward of Giridih Hospital, she had suffered a deep wound on her knee after being munched on by rats. Mamta Devi said that I was scared after seeing the wound on the knee of the girl.

The baby girl was born on April 29 but was infected with jaundice

The baby girl was born on April 29 and was admitted to the MCH as she was suffering from breathing problems after the birth. She said that the nurse on duty had told her that the baby was infected with jaundice. The nurse had also advised to get the girl admitted to a better hospital.

Action will be taken against the doctor: Deputy Commissioner

Giridih Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra said that a letter has been sent to the Additional Chief Secretary, Jharkhand Health Department for action against the doctor on duty at Giridih Sadar Hospital.
