Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) took major action in Godda district of Jharkhand. Taking action here on Tuesday, the ACB caught an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posted at the Town Police Station while accepting a bribe.

Giving details of the case, the ACB officer said that a resident of Ramla village had lodged a complaint against the policeman (ASI), identified as Anod Kumar, for writing a case diary related to the land dispute in favor of the complainant. 10,000 was allegedly demanded for it.

ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police Vimlesh Tripathi said that a team of ACB from Dumka Bureau laid a trap on Tuesday and caught the ASI while taking bribe. At the same time, the ACB team took the policeman to Dumka for further investigation.

Youth stabbed to death in Jamshedpur
A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district on Tuesday evening. Victim Mohammad Irshad had recently come out of jail on bail in a case.

The official said that Irshad had left his house in the afternoon during the Eid festival and was then stabbed by someone near Tamolia Mode of Azadnagar police station area. He later died in a hospital. He said the motive behind the murder is not clear and investigation has been started.
