Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that at present there is no plan to ban liquor in the state. During Question Hour on Monday, Congress MLA Deepika Pandey Singh raised the issue of prohibition during Question Hour. In response to which Chief Minister Soren said that the Jharkhand government will not implement prohibition.

Pandey had said that like Bihar, the implementation of liquor prohibition in Jharkhand will drastically reduce crimes against women, but the Chief Minister categorically denied this.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that at present the government has no idea to implement prohibition. Earlier, Deepika Pandey Singh demanded prohibition, saying that domestic violence has increased due to alcohol and cases of female harassment have increased.
On the other hand, Pradeep Yadav sought information from the government on the implementation of the old pension scheme in the state. Yadav said that the government of many states is considering it. On this, Chief Minister Soren said that the government has no proposal at present.
