Jharkhand: FIR against 5 for beating youth in Palamu Ranchi News – Times of India

Oi Palamu: Police have registered an FIR against five people and a dozen unidentified people for allegedly thrashing 18-year-old Bat Karma village. Palamu of Jharkhand on 13 December.
The video of the incident had gone viral on social media on Wednesday.
The victim Khustar Ansari of Jhaber village under Satbarwa police station area was beaten up by the locals, including relatives of a girl from the minority community whom he had gone to meet in another village.
Officer-in-charge Gautam Roy said, “An FIR was lodged at Leslieganj police station on December 22.”
“One of the five people is the brother of the girl, who has been identified as Noor Alam Ansari of Karma village,” he said.
The girl’s father Roshan Ansari is in Surat. The other four named accused include Anees Ansari of Dhavdih village, Shahid Ansari of Karma, Tabarak Ansari and Kausar Ansari of Karma.
The incident took place in Kasmar village.
A police officer said that Khustar had gone to Karma village, where his girlfriend lived, on December 13. The two met near a madrasa around 7 pm, when Khustar was held up all night by the local people, including the girl’s family.
On 14 December, Khustar was hung upside down from a tree, his hair was partially cut and he was slapped by the mob.
“The same day the community members released Khustar and handed him over to the Muslim society in Karma village after which he (Khustar) went home. The situation is under control and the police is probing the matter.”
