Jharkhand: Encounter between police naxalites in Palamu, no damage

An encounter broke out between the police and Naxalites on a Palhe Turkun hill in Nowdiha police station area of ​​Palamu district of Jharkhand late on Sunday evening. Ajay Kumar, the sub-divisional police officer of Chhatarpur, said that the police force did not suffer any significant damage in the encounter, while the Naxalites also did not report much damage.

Kumar said that this afternoon, the police team out on patrol had received information about the presence of Naxalites. He said that on the basis of information, the Naxalites started firing on the advancing police party, after which the encounter started.

After a brief encounter, the Naxalites fled from there, he said. Police is conducting cordon and search operation in the area.
