Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party leader Babulal Mandari on Sunday made several serious allegations against the Principal Secretary of CM Hemant Soren. He released a 22-second video of CM Soren’s Principal Secretary Rajeev Arun Ekka on Sunday. It was alleged that Ekka was signing government files in the private office of businessman Vishal Chowdhary. Last year, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the premises belonging to Vishal Chowdhary in the Pooja Singhal case. In May last year, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Jharkhand’s mining secretary Pooja Singhal in connection with a money-laundering probe linked to alleged embezzlement of MGNREGA funds and other charges.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter. Babulal Mandari said, we demand a CBI inquiry into the matter. He said, we also demand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to remove the Principal Secretary from the post and register an FIR against him. The matter will soon be taken up with Governor CP Radhakrishnan as well, the BJP leader said. On the other hand, Mithilesh Thakur, cabinet minister in the Hemant Soren government, said in this matter that he had no information about the video released by the BJP.

Following the serious allegations made by the BJP, the Jharkhand government on Sunday itself transferred Rajeev Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. According to an official notification, IAS officer Ekka has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department from the post of Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Additional Charge Principal Secretary Information and Public Relations Department and Principal Secretary Home Jail till further orders.
