Zilla Parishad member Praveen Murmu said he was surrounded by villagers after he entered a house last night to commit a theft. He was later found dead.

Three people died after the vehicle fell into the pit
At the same time, in Koderma district, three people traveling in a vehicle fell into a roadside pothole and died. The incident took place in Kanko village of Tilaiya Dam police post area at around 8.30 pm on Saturday night.

According to the information, a group of people had come for picnic in Tilaiya. While they were returning, the driver of their pick-up van lost control of the vehicle and fell into a ditch. The vehicle was fitted with a music system, generator and loudspeakers. Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav said that two people died after being buried under the generator set and the third person died while being taken to the hospital.
