‘Jersey’ release date postponed amid rising Omicron cases

New Delhi: The release date of Shahid Kapoor’s much-awaited upcoming film ‘Jersey’ has been postponed amidst rising cases. omicron The sports drama in the country which was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on December 31, 2021, has now been pushed forward. The makers will announce the new release date of the film later.

Written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same title that starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath in lead roles. The film was originally scheduled to release in theaters on August 28, 2020, but got delayed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Earlier this year, Shahid Kapoor announced the new release date of ‘Jersey’ on his social media and wrote, “Jersey will hit the theaters on 31st December 2021.”

The makers also released the trailer of the film last month and it was well received by the audience. A glimpse of Shahid and Mrunal’s performance in the film was highly appreciated and fans were eagerly waiting for the film to hit the screens.
