Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez introduces her baby, Emme, using gender-neutral pronouns during a public event. Lopez, one of the twins, joined Emme, one of the twins she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, for a performance at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala, which raised $3.6 million for local causes .

As aceshowbiz.com reports, before singing a cover for Christina Perry’s ‘A Thousand Years’, she introduced the teen using the pronouns “give/they”.

“The last time we performed together was in such a big stadium and I tell them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t. So it’s a very special occasion,” the star told Emmys. Referring to said Super Bowl halftime performance he also brought Emmy to the stage in 2020.

The 52-year-old quipped about Emme: “They’re so busy. Booked. And expensive! It cost me when they come out. But they’re worth every penny because they’re all my Time’s favorite couple mates… so if you’ll indulge me.”

In a video that went viral, the 14-year-old used a rainbow-coloured microphone during the performance.

Emme further joined JLo for a verse from Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” and the introduction to her hit “Let’s Get Loud.”

Many quickly assumed how “they” identified Amy and fans liked that JLo respected Emme’s choice of pronouns. “‘They’ are the hallmark of Emme.”

One commented on the performance of the two, saying, “It was JLo sharing that information. It’s great to see him supporting his child.”

Another quipped: “Awww respects JLo pronouns.”

A third person, who is also a mom, dubbed JLo a “mom target” and tweeted: “I need to work on saying this to my baby so easily. #momgoal #lovemythey.”
