Jennifer Lopez opens up about exhaustion-induced panic attack in her 20s

Singer Jennifer Lopez recalled “feeling physically paralyzed” during the severe panic attacks she experienced in her late 20s.

In the latest edition of her On the JLo newsletter, Jennifer opened up about how she changed her lifestyle after battling exhaustion-induced panic attacks, People reported.

“There was a time in my life when I used to sleep for 3 to 5 hours a night. I would be on the sets all day and in the studio all night doing junkets and filming videos on the weekends,” she wrote. “I was in my late 20s and thought I was invincible. Until one day, I was sitting in a trailer, and all the work and stress caused by not getting enough sleep to recover mentally. Cause, I got caught,” she said. Lopez shared that she went from “feeling completely normal to thinking about what I should be doing that day and suddenly I felt like I couldn’t move.”

“I was completely frozen,” Lopez wrote. She said that she “couldn’t see clearly” and that the physical symptoms “began to frighten me and the fear increased on its own. Now I know it was a classic panic attack caused by exhaustion, but I never felt at that time.” Hadn’t heard that word,” she said.

Jennifer revealed that she questioned her prudence until a health professional told her she needed to take a closer look at her lifestyle. “My security guard on the set came and picked me up and took me to the doctor. By the time I got there, I could at least speak again and I was so scared I thought I was losing my mind,” Lopez said. “I asked the doctor if I was going crazy. He said, ‘No, you’re not crazy. You need sleep… Get 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, don’t drink caffeine,’ and if you’re that much If you are going to work, make sure you do your workout.'”

Jennifer explained that she “let go of my self-care needs completely” because she prioritized work during a time in her life that led to the beginning of her lifestyle empire, her first studio album on 6 and One. Budding film career that included her Golden Globe-nominated performance in Selena, as well as her first marriage. Jennifer stressed, “I realized how dire the consequences could be for ignoring what my body and mind needed to do to stay healthy — and that’s where my journey began.”
