JEE Main: RailTel’s Akanksha Super 30 registers 94% success rate in last 5 years

Akanksha Super 30, an initiative of railway PSU RailTel to help underprivileged students of Uttarakhand prepare for entrance exams in engineering colleges, has registered a success rate of 94 per cent in the last five years, the PSU said on Saturday.

Between 2016 and 2021, the project has helped 167 students pursue engineering from IITs and various other reputed engineering colleges, RailTel said in a statement.

“From the launch of the project in 2016 to 2021, its overall success rate has been 94 per cent which is an outstanding achievement,” it said.

“In the last session 2020-21, the results have been very good and 28 out of 30 students have cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). After completing engineering graduation, many students got placements in various reputed companies like L&T, TCS and ibm,

“The Akansha Super 30 project aims to transform the lives of underprivileged but talented students by strengthening their academic excellence through residential coaching, boarding and lodging and helping them prepare for IIT/JEE, which is one of the best for aspiring engineers. It’s a prestigious exam.” Said it.

Under the scheme, underprivileged students are selected from schools in different districts of Uttarakhand through a fair and diligent process of written test and interview. Students are selected on the basis of marks in the exam, their financial status and government norms.

The selected 30 students are housed in residential campus in Dehradun and are provided with free residential accommodation, food, medical care, coaching and guidance among other facilities.

The residential campus is designed for undivided attention, maximum collaboration, healthy competition and teamwork among the faculty, staff and students.

The duration of the program is generally 11 months or till the final examination for admission to engineering colleges is conducted.

The unique features of the project include a smart classroom, personal computer lab, highly experienced faculty members, specially designed pattern-proof study material, periodic tests, well designed academic modules and individual attention to each student by the academic officer. In addition to giving, a safe is also included. and safe living and environment for girls.

RailTel is implementing this project with the help of a Delhi based NGO – Center for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL).

Talking about the projects, RailTel CMD Puneet Chawla said, “RailTel is committed to make sincere efforts to fulfill its obligations towards the society through CSR initiatives.”

“These measures help build trustworthy and sustainable relationships with the community at large. We have made CSR an integral part of our corporate strategy and implemented it systematically,” said Rice.

“Apart from the Super 30 project, the company has also undertaken other CSR initiatives like Menstrual Health Management, Skill Development Centres, Mini Science Centers (MSCs) and Digital Learning Centers (DLC) at various locations in the country,” he added.
