The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 exam in the coming week. Till now NTA has released the syllabus for the exam. JEE Main 2023 consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is administered for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (BE and B.Tech). Additionally, Paper 2 is administered for enrollment into BArch and BPlanning programs of the nation. Two sessions of the exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The BE and B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2023 exam will have three sections including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

JEE Main 2023: Paper pattern

Section A will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), while Section B will consist of questions whose answers are to be filled in the form of numerical values. Section A is compulsory and four marks will be awarded for each correct answer, however, one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of the given 10. There will be no negative marking for section B.

The number of applications for JEE Main has been around 9.5 lakh per session, with many candidates redoubled efforts to increase their scores. This year also a similar number of candidates are expected to apply. In 2022, a total of 10,26,799 candidates registered for JEE Main 2022 – which includes both June and July attempts. Out of the total, 9,05,590 students appeared in the exam. A total of 24 candidates had secured 100 percentile score and secured rank 1 in the engineering entrance exam. The top 2.5 lakh candidates will be eligible to appear for the IIT entrance exam – JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2023: Marking Scheme

Four (+4) marks will be awarded for each accepted or correctly answered question in JEE Main 2023 exam. Candidates will get Minus One (-1) grade for wrong answer or multiple responses. Additionally, no marks will be awarded for questions that were left unanswered or marked for review.

JEE Main 2023 will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu in compliance with the national norms. Education Policy (NEP). The language of the question paper should be selected while filling the online application; This cannot be changed later. However, the English version will be treated as final for the accuracy of questions on all the papers.

Meanwhile, students will soon be able to access JEE Main Exam City Notification Slip. JEE Main 2023 session 1 admit card is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after the publication of the city allotment list.
